According to medical professionals, the root of most health related issues that a lot of people complain about these days is stress. For many, it can be extremely challenging to lead a stress free life. This is most especially true for individuals who have tons of tasks to carry out at home and in the office. Fortunately, it's very much possible to lower one's level of stress through a lot of simple activities, and playing calming harp music is one of those.

For a long time now, experts have established the fact that soothing sounds can have plenty of positive effects. For individuals who are always stressed, it can help pacify their nervous system. Basically, stress is the consequence of an overworked nervous system as a result of a considerable rise in the levels of a hormone known as cortisol.

Cortisol is manufactured by the adrenal glands whenever the body is in a state of stress. The presence of tiny amounts of cortisol is really beneficial as it serves to keep the vital organs out of harm's way. However, it's an entirely different picture if there's so much cortisol in an individual's body constantly as it could cause those vital organs to become damaged sooner or later, like in the case of a person who has chronic stress.

Medical professionals confirm that chronic stress is something that can cause a wide variety of health related complications. This is particularly true if it's poorly managed. High blood pressure, increased blood glucose levels, weight gain, failure to get a good night's sleep and impaired digestion are just some of them.

All of the said complications of chronic stress can eventually cause even more issues. The fact is many of those resulting problems are more serious than the ones responsible for them. Hypertension, for instance, may considerably increase your risk of suffering from heart disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) regards heart disease as the number 1 cause deaths across the planet. On the other hand, having high levels of glucose in the bloodstream may put you at risk of developing type II diabetes.

Quite evidently, it's a must for everyone to deal with chronic stress effectively. Otherwise, all sorts of health issues may come into being one day. Especially nowadays when the price of obtaining medical attention is not easy on the pocket, staying as healthy as possible is a requirement.

Fortunately, dealing with chronic stress need not be an expensive endeavor. So many activities out there can help in relaxing the body and mind, thus causing a considerable reduction in the levels of the hormone called cortisol. Some wonderful examples of those include having a massage, doing yoga, performing meditation, writing in a journal, reading a novel and taking a relaxing bath.

Playing harp music can be really relaxing, too. The truth is it may be done in conjunction with other stress busting activities of your preference. For example, you may get it playing in the background as you are enjoying your chamomile infused warm bath or having a professional massage in the comfort of your home.
