How To Practice Guitar Playing?

By Jack Wogan

Practicing guitar playing is not as simple as people might think. However with a little bit of organizing you could learn really fast to play your favorite songs. Now, don't expect to become a famous musician overnight, but in time who knows? Time is the most important variable in this equation. You have to decide how much time you can spend practicing. If you want to become a professional you need to make this your full time job. If on the other hand this is just a hobby a few minutes a day is enough to impress your friends in just a few weeks.

After deciding on the time issue, the second step concerns how you are going to take the classes. You can learn by yourself or get a tutor. If you choose the latter alternative it can be easier at least when it comes to finding the information and guidance you need, but it will also cost you more. Learning alone can also have advantages and disadvantages but it is all up to you what you choose. You should know that the internet can offer you many reading materials and videos about guitar playing. Just select the ones you find more interesting and get to work.

The third step consists of choosing the best instrument for you. If you are not sure which guitar is best for you ask for customer assistance from the shop you go to. The online shops also provide customers with very important information on all their instruments making your choice easier. Since accessories are a must, don't ignore the importance of amplifiers, pedaltrains, guitar effects pedals, strings, strands and so on. Even the chair has to be chosen wisely to make it more comfortable for you.

Create your own style. This is a must. In the beginning everything might seem very difficult. Well, that's normal. But if you find small tricks to help you, things get easier in no time. An example is not using the guitar when you practice the first chords. Draw on a piece of paper the position of your fingers. Then transpose the image on the guitar.

Exercise your hands for guitar playing. Flex your fingers, loosen your joints, keep your back straight and choose a comfortable position. You need to rest the guitar on one of the knees to be able to practice longer without getting tired. If you are right handed make sure you rest it on the left knee and vice versa.

All these easy tips should be very useful. With time you will come up with your own tips that will turn you into a great guitar player appreciated by fans or at least by friends.
