Basic Things About Latin Drum Loops

As they are used for many instrumentals in music, Latin drum loops are meant to provide background for vocal singing and instruments in a band. The style is very different than others and for this reason drummers are often puzzled, when they try it. Knowing the style may be very useful, as it may be requested in different events.

The origins of the beats are in the African tribal music and it has different tempos, feelings and rhythms. Because it is so unique, the style it is very difficult to combine with other genres. For example, the beats are hard to be learned by rockers. In rock music the snares, bass and hit hats are commonly used.

Even if it is so difficult, it may be better for a drummer to learn all the genres of music. The style that is much older than others like rock, pop or country and it integrates the following styles: Salsa, Samba, Beebop, Bossa, Rumba, Cumbia, Brazilian and Afro American. Learning all the genres can be beneficial, as it can be requested by an audience, on different occasions.

The beats have patterns that can also be used in jazz and swing are: 3/2 Rhumba Clave and 2/3 Rhumba Clave. Additional patterns can be the following: Bossa, Sun Clave, Shuffle or Cascarra.

Because it is so versatile, the genre makes the utilization of many instruments possible. One of the popular combinations is the use of two drums, cowbells and a conga. Other instruments that can be used are: toms, timbales, wood blocks and others.

When using Latin drum loops, people can create great songs. The beats that are used for the genre do not fit other styles, in general. However, a drummer must integrate the Salsa, Samba and other styles into his/her musical repertoire.
