Everyone needs some calm music from time to time. Combined with relaxing activities such as sleep, a warm bath or sunset viewing, musical sounds can definitely take away the knots on your nerves. If you're on the lookout for great sounds to use on your chill out time, there are six kinds that are highly recommended.

Nature Sounds The sounds of water gushing, birds twittering and wind blowing incorporated into musical compositions are popularly used for relaxation because they promote peaceful mental images. Listening to them transports listeners to actual nature scenes or locations. In some cases though, natural tunes that carry the sounds of rain or thunder can be used primarily not to create images but to block out unwelcome sounds such as the humming of the refrigerator at night. In any case, they can still generally be considered calming music.

Instrumental Tunes Any composition without vocals is considered instrumental. It is however the slow beat type that is considered more ideal for relaxation. Traditional instruments like the flute, piano, guitar or harp are the most common elements in soothing instrumental tracks. These instruments are preferred because they have natural qualities that are capable of producing gentle tones.

Solid research information is available online. Using social media to market your music is effective if you use listening skills, establish trust, add value, and project authenticity. Importance is placed on strategies and actual tools you use to promote your music. The best strategies are found in social media networks.

Jazz Compositions A lot of people think of jazz as calm music. This is even if this broad genre encompasses such upbeat forms as ragtime. Jazz is usually used to refer to the African-American genre that came into existence in the late 19th century. Jazz is actually very difficult to define but some regard it as being more than a genre. It is also a musical approach punctuated by such elements as swing notes, blue notes and improvisation. These generally help produce a variety of emotions that lead to enjoyment and relaxation.

So, does any of that actually answer the original question? What is rockabilly anyway? Rockabilly is raw excitement. It's unrestrained music created by brash, young musicians who were inventing the rules as they were going along. It's no-holds-barred fun. It makes you dance. It makes you smile.

Classical Compositions This is a broad term that encompasses European compositions that belong roughly to the 18th and early 19th centuries. Most people generally recognize Mozart, Bach and Beethoven as master composers belonging to this period. Not all classical compositions carry sustained slow beats but a lot of people consider them relaxing. One major reason for this is because these compositions hail from a perceived era of artistic refinement and taste.
