Enjoy Performing Arts In Portland

If you enjoy spending your vacation time basking in the performing arts, consider a trip to Portland. This Oregon city offers everything from world-class theater to symphony performances and even opera.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of Carmen, Giselle or perhaps The Nutcracker at the Oregon Ballet Theatre. This professional dance company not only performs a full slate of five programs each season, they also partake in regional and national tours, including a 2008 performance at the Kennedy Center.

Another option is to enjoy a performance of The Oregon Symphony. The current season features everything from Mozart's Jupiter Symphony to A Natalie Cole Valentine. On September 1, the symphony will be showcasing its skills at a free performance at Waterfront Park.

Opera lovers are sure to enjoy at evening at the Portland Opera. The company performs a variety of classic operas. The current season includes performances of Madame Butterfly, The Marriage of Figaro and Candide to name a few.
