FM Modulator For The Car

By James M. Boersma

My iPod and me go everywhere together. When I'm on the go, I have to have personal music with me or I'd go crazy. I simply cannot stand listening to the radio because of the constant commercials. There aren't many stations in my area that play the music I like, so an mp3 player is an absolute must.

Portable music players have come along way since the Sony Walkman. Having the ability to walk around with our favorite music was an incredible step forward for the music industry. These days almost everyone has an mp3 player (most likely an iPod). These little devices are extremely easy to use and allow you to hold hundreds of albums in the palm of your hand. When you're in the car however, most people find that their vehicle doesn't have an easy way to hook up an iPod. Because of this, an FM modulator is a popular item for iPod owners.

Most of my friends think that wired FM modulators are the best way to connect an iPod to your car stereo. I, however, think my friends are crazy. Ripping apart my dash to hook up my iPod is not something that sounds desirable to me at all. I don't have any experience with wiring or electrical installations, so the thought of wasting a Saturday trying to install a modulator sounds pretty stupid. A wireless unit that I don't have to install seems to be the better choice.

Many wireless modulators have pretty poor performance unfortunately. However, the best ones can easily broadcast music over a hundred feet, which results in very high audio quality. Good FM modulators are compatible with all audio sources and can transmit on any available frequency in the public FM band. Check out this wireless modulator FM for an example of what I'm talking about.

Since most wireless FM modulators can barely transmit a few feet, their are many disgruntled customers out there. You can find evidence of this on large eCommerce sites like eBay and Amazon. To make sure you're getting a good modulator, check out these sites and make sure the feedback for the modulator your considering is generally positive.

Usually if you try to save a few bucks, especially with technology, you end up getting burned. Cheap modulators will give you terrible audio quality and unnecessary headaches. Make sure to buy the highest quality FM modulator, so that you can start enjoying great audio in your car today.
