Older believers need to be careful the way they talk, I'm told. So allow me to first say, yes, there are several modern songs around. The music and also the words both.
Now without a doubt could actually feel...
Because "established" church have trouble with all the old hymnbooks, I sing away from one most every morning. In private. I enjoy even the poetry of such songs. I got raised to them, exactly what do I say? There is majesty and beauty and downright sense for the words.
Take this method. I possess never sung it during my life, couldn't whistle the tune merely tried, but while skimming through the particular songbook (Hymns on the Christian Life, 1936! -before even my time), I possess find this song often. I chosen to start a read only. Oh my, I used to be touched over I've been in the month of Sundays from the established place. And that i mean no offense to my home church. I recently have trouble feeling in the home during song-time. Look at these words:
1. Jesus and shall it ever be, a mortal man ashamed of Thee?
Ashamed of Thee Whom angels praise, Whose glories shine through endless days?
2. Ashamed of Jesus! sooner far let evening blush to possess a star;
He sheds the beams of light divine o'er this benighted soul of mine.
3. Ashamed of Jesus! that dear Friend on Whom my hopes of heaven depend!
No; while i blush, be this my shame, that we destroy all the revere His Name.
4. Ashamed of Jesus! Yes, I might when I've no guilt to completely clean away,
No tears to wipe, no good to crave, no fears to quell, no soul to avoid wasting.
5. Till then, nor is my boasting vain, till however boast a Saviour slain;
And O may this my glory be, that Christ is not really ashamed of me.
OH how wonderful those words of Joseph Grigg. I will only suppose Henry Oliver's tune enhances the sweetness. Because that's how a old songs were, in most cases. Great lyrics, supportive music. Not one other way around.
Here is a suggestion for Mother Church, your body from the Lord Himself. Once we so desire novelty for the youth, let's teach them a few of these great old songs they own never heard. For them, will have them new. To us will have them precious. And we'll all be happy.
Suggestion two, while I'm with a roll. The Church wasn't for the globe, nevertheless for the saints. Allow the Church remain holy and draw all men to Christ throughout the preached cross. Allow the saints feel safe into their own residence. The globe has a unique.
Did I simply change the topic...? not necessarily. Music that attracts the flesh is from the world. Music that effects bodily changes is fleshly. Music which makes me wish to cover my ears is definitely an offense. Music that, like alcohol and tobacco, takes some being utilized to must be eliminated before all ears are polluted and individuals will never even want to visit a church that will not rock.
