For The Price They Are Sweet - Infrared Wireless Headphones Review
Posted by Kay Stanford Jr Kastum at 2:56 AMOr office and will enable you to rediscover music and put a smile on your face. I love the sound, I love the fact that when the song is over there is no hiss or static, Next song comes on and it emerges out of silence as clean as with a wired pair. I wanted wireless headphones with good battery life, sound quality, and comfort. I use these headphones for music, movies, and gaming.
I bought a set of these a few weeks ago. I'm an overnight worker and try to keep my sleep pattern regular, so I'm often up all night on my nights off.
Another flaw - ALC button (to boost speech range)is located on transmitter only, so you have to walk to it to turn it on if you have a hard time hearing dialogs in movies. This is why I gave it 3 out of 5 for ease of use.
They twist and adjust quite a bit to fit different size and shaped heads. The base is modern and nice looking. The sound is great, as is the range. First pair received was DOA. Now that I am able to hear so well again, makes the Sennheiser RS 180 Headphones well worth their cost. I have/had both multiple wired/wireless headphones, so I've put together a mental list over time, of what worked, and what hasn't.
They have the advantage of distance over the pioneers. The pioneers have more volume but these are OK. I find having the base besides the TV flashing at me all the time even more annoying than the complete idiocy of buttons that you can't feel. This is utterly ridiculous engineering.
You have to be careful placing the headphones on the cradle, to insure the contacts engage for charging. However, there's an amber LED that lights while the headphone set is charging, so it's obvious when contact has been made. It fits comfortably on the ears for hours of use without discomfort. The AGC works VERY WELL indeed.
I have never given anything five stars until this product came along. Having previously owned the earlier RS 160, I knew the quality of these "cans." I ventured about my backyard with them on and at 60-75 feet from the base they tended to cut in and out. I have the base unit behind my flat screen to keep it away from the grandkids, and I'm sure if I had it higher the range would be sufficient enough to go 75 plus feet. Very pleased with the RS180 and well worth the additional cost. These headphones are great. However, the headphones and base don't seem to be constructed with particularly high-quality materials. The plastic feels light and thin -- which could be a positive, but makes me, wonder whether they could break easily.
