This makes it impossible for me to use them in this way. Since I have hearing issues and is why I buy earphones, I really can't use them for one purpose that is very important to me. Range is also excellent. The only thing to note is that the base station does not have optical audio input, only a standard 1/8th jack.

The headphones come with rechargeable batteries, which is a great addition for people who want to try out their new toy straight out of the box. So of course the boyfriend had to walk all over our apartment complex to see how far away from the station he would still be able to hear the television.

The volume and balance are controlled by small, low-profile buttons on the outside of the right ear cup. For me, it's been tough to find and operate those buttons by feel. I was excited about this alone, but I also learned that the volume controls are flat and therefore will not accidentally change as per my first point made above. Here's what I found about the 180's after one day of use.

However, there are a few things that really frustrate me about these cans. The much mentioned volume buttons that are too small are just one. If I did this, I could not hear the TV. The Sennheiser RD180 has solved all our problems. Yes, but you get what you pay for. I absolutely love them. Both the 180's and 130's are open, so this is not explained by some type of closed environment in the 130's. It is something with the technology of the 180's that creates a slight delay in sound transmission.

This product is great; I connected it to my computer, went to my backyard and listened to my music while working in the garden. The set-up is very easy and the sound quality is amazing.

Customer service tells me that extra headsets are not available until around June. These headphones also come with rechargeable batteries. I purchased these to use with my TV. The sound is good but not as good as my pioneer SE-DHP800 infra-red head phones.

I can live with that when watching TV, and it certainly is "same difference" when consuming audio-only sources. Brief dropouts can occur when my microwave oven is on and I happen to pass within 2' of it.

First, let me say that these come highly recommended. Sennheiser fixed some of the problems that plagued their previous wireless headphones.
