However this is a quality headset. It is worth its high price tag in my opinion. If you accidentally hit one of the balance buttons, you can hold down both balance buttons at the same time to reset. Oh, and one other potential drawback: they make the wearer look like a total dork. I used these to replace a set of Sennheiser RS 140 wireless headphones. Unlike the 140, the 180 are digital -- no static or white noise. I'd like to be able to sit in my screened porch and listen, but it cuts out just before I get to the door, which is no more than 50' from the transmitter. We'll see if moving the transmitter (use a long audio extension cable) helps any.

This is a complaint I've had in other headphones that either didn't have enough padding in the headband, or the ear cups, or were not adjustable enough. Perfectly surrounds your ears (as opposed to 'open-air' which press against your ears), and the headband is thickly padded. Exceptionally audio and as advertised the headphones enhance the audio clarity, as if bringing the voices to the front of the screen. This particular model -- the 180 -- focuses on "open air" and the audio clarity.

I can't vouch for the range though; I have little reason to prance around with these. But as for upstairs and downstairs in the same house, no worries with these headphones.

I live in an apartment building, so can't watch TV or listen to music very loudly without disturbing my neighbors. I've been waiting for some time to buy some quality wireless headphones that are lossless and affordable. The size of the buttons and their labeling are so small that anyone over 40 will have serious issues about using them. I use the earphones to watch TV while my wife is using the regular TV speakers. I get both sounds but at slightly different moments in time. They are just Ni-Cad AAA batteries so you should just be able to replace them with standard, inexpensive rechargeable AAAs when they eventually die. Build quality is excellent. They have very reasonable range and auto-volume adjusts. NO extraneous noise.

The Sennheiser RS 180 Headphones exceeded all of my requirements. There is ample room for over the ear hearing aids in the muffs if you need additional sound clarification and tweaking, but the sound quality is so great you don't really need them. I have only two issues with this headset. The range of operation is not what I thought it should be.

I purchased these wireless headphones for quiet listening late at night so I would not disturb other people. I have used the wired Sennheiser HD 414 headphones for the last 20+ years and have had zero problems with them. I use these for watching TV when my wife has gone to bed or play my video game when so she can listen to the radio and we don't compete with each other for sound. I have to say the sound quality is there.
