The Yamaha P-155 digital piano provides expert-quality sound like none other. You are provided with digital piano know-how right where you want it whether you are practicing at your home or away from home, or performing in a band or going solo. It offers top of the line sampling functions as well as the GH (Graded Hammer) keyboard that is highly-expressive and realistic.

The keys are just like the acoustic piano: heavier weighted in the registers that are lower and lighter for the upper notes. Also, it sounds just like an authentic piano. The four-layer, natural sounding piano sample is a step forward at this cost range. Of the four recordings that are available, depending on the force of note when it is struck, one of the recordings will play, providing an extraordinary level of different range and tonal sound for a piano of this kind.

DDS (Dynamic Stereo Sampling) technology from Yamaha utilizes four-level piano samples to boost expression. You will be able to hear (of four) piano recordings on each key at an extraordinary level of tonal expression and vibrant range, depending on the level of strike from the user on a particular note. Playing softly doesn't necessarily mean that the volume is lowered. Instead, it generates the hushed recordings of the notes of the piano. Playing harder generates divided samples at various levels. Yamaha has put out great effort to capture the sonic artifacts of the grand piano in the Yamaha P-155. Their thorough efforts also include the recording of a felt damper which comes to pause (Key Off Samples) on a vibrating string whenever a note has been released by the user. Also, the reproduction of the open strings sound will emphasize your performance when you use the Stereo Sustain Samples and Damper Resonance (damper pedal).

The layer modes and the easily set features of the Yamaha P-155, the polyphony with 128 notes along with 50 regular piano repertoire built-in songs that are recorded with the left and right hands on different tracks. The song recorder is great for grabbing ideas or looking over performances.

The Yamaha P-155 comes in Black (mahogany trimmed), Silver (cherry trimmed) and Black (ebony trimmed). Accessories include: Sustain pedal: FC4; music rest; quick operation guide; owner's manual; PA301 AC power adapter; three-year warranty. The P-155 L140 stand is an optional accessory. It includes some sounds like four types of reverb, three brilliance types, four effects plus a few more sounds. The MIDI and USB makes it handy to plug to any separate devices. The Yamaha P-144 is 41 lbs. This is not really light but is adequate for the keys which feel like real piano. There is also 2-track recording feature and the loudspeakers are 12W x 2: double the YDP-141's power.
