There are countless debates on the effect of having music lessons in the progress of IQ in kids. A study in the '90s concluded that listening to Mozart classical music can increase one's spatial reasoning, causing mothers to think that their babies will grow up brighter if they play classical music while they are asleep. There are other studies about the subject that yielded different results, even though the perception nowadays is that music aids children in becoming smarter that's why many parents are giving their kids music classes as early as possible.

Since there are different variables that affect one's intelligence quotient, many disagree that it is not easy to just gauge its progress by just throwing in music lessons to children's curriculum. Just observing its effects to those who have music classes will not ensure steady outcome. children are naturally in the age where they acquire curiosity in a lot of things, therefore opening their minds to knowledge. Also, the socioeconomic class of the kids whose parents can commonly pay for music lessons may have higher intelligence quotient average than those who can't pay for the lessons.

Parents give their kids music lessons because of the constructive impact it brings. The impact of studying music to the progress of children's IQ are still debatable, but the advantages are indisputable.

Music lessons for children can help them focus their restless energy into something constructive. For preschool kids especially, they can find musical programs physically satisfying and mentally uplifting, allowing them to discover their environment through music and absorb information in an enriching and pleasing way.

These music classes are normally intended as an early training ground for kids to help them concentrate and learn to memorize before they start attending school. The lessons are enjoyable and lively, and can help acquire their curiosity in music or even in other things too.

While there are mothers and fathers who dream of making their children music wonders, music lessons don't automatically make them stars. The programs are normally just designed to expose children to music, boost their self-esteem, and help them find their interest.
