Solid Buy For The Price - Panasonic Wireless Headphones Review

I haven't used them in the basement yet but I will next time I do my laundry. I forgot the last 2 times. For our installation, at least, it was an annoyance to have the charger integrated with the transmitter. The transmitter has to be physically tied to the TV sound source with a cable, which limits your choices for where to plug in the charging station. I'd like to be able to sit in my screened porch and listen, but it cuts out just before I get to the door, which is no more than 50' from the transmitter. We'll see if moving the transmitter (use a long audio extension cable) helps any. They sound great! The controls are hard to use without actually taking the headset off and looking at which buttons you are pressing. Both the 180's and 130's are open, so this is not explained by some type of closed environment in the 130's. It is something with the technology of the 180's that creates a slight delay in sound transmission.
Control buttons are very close together and when first using them, you tend to push the wrong ones quite a bit. I consider this a minor inconvenience since after a bit of practice you can determine which buttons you want to use/adjust by feel. They do not dwell on the surround sound capability. But, I have found the surround sound to be incredible. I called Sennheiser customer service and they said to continue to use them and this would correct itself and if not to get back to them. They were easy to contact and their response was correct. They are extremely comfortable. The fit is snug on an average size head, and with the over-the-ear style of these, they have no pressure at all on your ears. If you're going out jogging for miles, don't take anything for granted. Take in mind the open design though; if you're in the same room as someone who's planning on sleeping, you can't turn these up too high. These are good headphones. The sound quality isn't the best, for example, my Sennheiser HD 25-1 II headphones sound a bit better, but these are more comfortable and they're open, and they're wireless.
That's what I wanted to do with this purchase, so mission accomplished. I have a friend that has an older set (HDR 130) of these head phones and I tried them out.
Don't get me wrong, the RS 190s are great if you're primary interested in listening to music but if you're looking for home theater quality sound for movies or games, then look no further. The RS 180 are prefect for that purpose.
The two wireless signals seem to work just fine at the same time. I'd rate these A- (4.5 out of 5) as far as wireless headphones go, and probably B+ (4 out of 5) out of any kind of headphone out there.
