This is quiet true for instruments that the great master artisans themselves have created. Handed down from generation to generation, the instruments need to be always in top form. Both the physical aspect of the instrument and the sound it produces must be maintained well. Violin restoration and maintenance are done to achieve this.

Preserving this valuable work of art is the main function that the restorers do. They make sure that the same quality sound is produced by the instrument from the day it was first crafted. This is done while making sure that the it is kept in good shape.

But for the master artisans who are the unsung heroes behind this feat, moving forward is what they continue to do. One of these days, people will learn appreciating the essence of this one of a kind instrument.
